Though expensive, this is a must have item for any camcorder. No function or recital will last longer than the life of this battery. I used a Sony HD handycam in Italy and never had less than 50% power even after all day at the Vatican. Coupled with a 32gb memory stick you have the perfect no worry setup.

This battery gives 400+ minutes of record time on my Sony HDR-CX550V. Wow! I just wish that it cost less. Several years ago, I was able to get a Ray-O-Vac battery for an older Sony 8mm camcorder. It cost half as much as the Sony, and came with a lifetime guarantee.
Even with the great Amazon discount, my Sony NPFV100 battery cost over $100.00. I’d place its actual value at ~ $80.00.

Excellent capacity, but it is so long that when I use the eye level viewfinder, it is in the way.

I love the long recording time offered by this battery. I’m using this with Sony XR550, fits perfectly and lasts really long for HD recording!
