Maybe the battery is done for. Batteries don’t have eternal life nor can sleep for eaons. No they are chemical little storage cans that will lose their ability to hold energy slowly. After harsh use or a certain time, a few years that is, the rechargable battery is unable to hold charge.

So what to do? Buy a new battery, available on your online and local photo stores

You need to download a new manual from the Samsung website. Not for this card issue, but simply because you should know that book inside out – you’ll learn so much from it.

About the transfer issue:

Don’t bother with cables or special software!

The easiest and best method to transfer photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are very cheap these days and widely available).

Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card (in case you want to take a few photos to get printed – NOT for viewing on the camera purposes).

Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice.
